Upending Empire By Taking A Nap

My position is that if the Church, which has as a fundamental value the concept of sabbath rest, cannot be in the forefront of proclaiming rest as sacred and naps as a form of resistance to injustice then we have failed our divine duty to be a place of counterculture holy work and should close up shop immediately.

Staying Grounded Amidst the Rubble

We must be acutely aware of and focused on the threats of the empire in our midst that seeks to distract us with things that appear shiny and mighty and overwhelming, while at the same time become recommitted with all our hearts to the manageable daily acts of love and kindness to friend and stranger alike.  We must acknowledge the fragile nature of the world and transform it one act of kindness at a time.
